quotes

"She said the object and colour in the materials around us actually have a physical effect on us, on how we feel." - Nightingale. F.,
<http://www.quotesandpoem.com/quotes/showquotes/author/florence-nightingale/34652>

"People say to me so often, 'Jane how can you be so peaceful when everywhere around you people want books signed, people are asking these questions and yet you seem peaceful,' and I always answer that it is the peace of the forest that I carry inside."
"Thinking back over my life, it seems to me that there are different ways of looking out and trying to understand the world around us. There's a very clear scientific window. And it does enable us to understand an awful lot about what's out there. There's another window, it's the window through which the wise men, the holy men, the masters, of the different and great religions look as they try to understand the meaning in the world. My own preference is the window of the mystic."
-Goodall. J
<http://www.uksociety.org/jane_goodall.htm>
[haven't decided between the two yet]

"The old paradox: Can God make a stone so heavy that he can´t lift it?”
-Hawkings. S

Patricia Piccinini's 'Radial' (2005) , as seen in an earlier blog, is made up of fibreglass, automative paint, stainless steel and rubber. the use of these paticular materials gives the artwork a more realistic feel and adheres to her automative themed art work. the rubber has been moulded on top of the wheel to create a figure that also looks somewhat like roadkill.

Sidney Nolan's 'Gallipoli' (1950), also a seen in the earlier blog along with Patricia Piccinini's artwork, isn't one of his widely known artworks even though it is such a powerful image. looking at the image you are able to feel his emotions and how he was directly affected by the second world war. however it seems that this was painted just on paper like some of his other artwork.

latest sketchup model

Similar to my last one, but modified a little. Still uses the same words of 'striking' above and 'death' below.

sketchup models

the models with nolan & piccinini's artwork wouldn't save as a 2d image so for now here's my next attempt at a model representing death underground and striking above ground
